Bullet Journal Review & Comparison:

These 3 journals are all high quality journals and we would be happy to use any of them due to their thick  paper that is resistant to ink bleeding and ghosting, their vegan hardcover designs, subtle dot grid and flat-lay binding. There are some slight differences between them, which doesn't vary in quality but may be of preference to some users.

For all of the bullet journal users in Australia that are wondering, yes, these bullet journals do compare well with Archer & Olive journals. Sadly, Archer & Olive are no longer wholesaling to Australian stockists, but don't worry - these bullet journals have beautiful, thick, high-quality paper that we think matches the standard set by Archer & Olive.

If you really want to REALLY nerd-out over bullet journals... read on...

Dot Grid Bullet Journal ComparisonDot Grid Comparison - Scribble & Dot has the most subtle dot grid out of the 3 journals, with both the finest and lightest dot grid, followed by Sophie Grace Creates. Yop & Tom has the darkest dot grid of the 3, but the dots are very fine. It really depends on whether you like to see your dot grid, or if you prefer it to disappear on the page. Yop & Tom journals also include subtle markings in the centre of the page, to make marking and dividing your page super easy.
Bullet Journal Water Colour Test(Left to right: Scribble & Dot, Yop & Tom & Sophie Grace Creates)

Journals for Water Colour
- Scribble & Dot has the smoothest finish and most vibrant colour presentation with water colours of the 3 journals. However, Yop & Tom follows closely behind and has the least amount of paper warping from wet paper. Sophie Grace Creates still works well with water colours, however the colours are not as dark or vibrant on the page compared to the other 2 journals.
All 3 journals have no bleeding, ghosting or shadowing from the use of water colour and can handle it without the paper warping too much or any paper breakage.

Simplest Journal Design - If you don't want the extras such as an index, key, pen test page or page numbers, then Sophie Grace Creates has the most simple design, with simple dot grid pages.
Scribble & Dot Bullet JournalMost Luxurious Journal - All 3 journals have beautiful vegan hardcover designs with gold foil stamps, however in our personal opinion the Scribble & Dot Journal has the most luxurious cover designs, with a variety of materials used for each cover design. For example, the yellow bee journal has a honeycomb type texture on the cover. Scribble & Dot covers are also slightly padded, making the covers feel thick and durable.
Paint pen bullet journal testJournal Paper Comparison - All 3 journals have beautiful thick 160gsm paper quality. The whitest paper is in the Scribble & Dot journals, with the Yop & Tom journals being the most creamy shade of white out the 3 journals. The Scribble & Dot journal also has the smoothest feeling paper, while some may prefer the very subtle texture of the bamboo paper in the Sophie Grace Creates journal. All 3 journals are compatible with markers, brush pens, gel pens, fountain pens, watercolours and paint pens without any bleeding, ghosting or shadowing.

Support Australian Design: If you're wanting to support Australian made products, Sophie Grace Creates journals match the same high quality standard of the Scribble & Dot, Yop & Tom and Archer & Olive journals. It's so great to see an Australian owned option that's available.

How do these journals compare to other journals in our shop?
We have such a beautiful range of journals that can be used for a range of purposes, however these 3 journals have the thickest and highest quality paper for using brush pens, watercolours, fountain pens, paint pens and markers. While all of our journals in the shop can handle some water colour, most brush pens and fountain pens, we think these 3 journals have the best results.
