Interview with Rach Got Plans
OMG! We're so excited for this interview with long term WashiGang fave, Rachel, AKA @rachgotplans !!! Rach has been a big WashiGang supporter and we're absolutely OBSESSED with her beautiful planner spreads! Think rainbow bright, colour popping, fun spreads, made for unicorns! We love your style, Rach!!!
Read on to get to know a little more about @rachgotplans and how she got into planning! Tell us a little about yourself: Hello!! I am Rachel, otherwise known as Rach. I am a thirty-something planner nerd, born and bred in Brisbane, Qld. No kids for me, unless you count fur-babies! I have one very well-loved chocolate Lab who goes by Boog (like booger), don't ask - I don't know how it stuck. I am a chocolate loving, Harry Potter obsessed, paper crafting, list making 80's child who loves to travel and explore (been missing travelling terribly!). How did you first get into planning? Everyone says this, but I've always been a planner. Prior to the rise of Happy Planner & Erin Condren, I used a trusty old Kikki K. I 'officially' joined the planner community way back in June 2015 with an Erin Condren life planner. That same year, I opened an Etsy sticker shop that I had for a few years before moving overseas and retiring my store. I started memory planning back when I was 15 and today have quite the collection of scrapbooks. I made it instagram official with Rachgotplans in February 2020. Which WashiGang products are you really enjoying using at the moment? At the moment, I have been loving all of the coloured markers, whether the fancy Acrylograph pens or the ClickArt Retractable markers! I have also re-kindled my love for washi tape! Brights, pastels, themes, you name it, I want them all! And to top it off, I am obsessing over all the latest hand lettering books and Kawaii style doodles! (I have more than I care to admit!) Can you tell us a bit about your planner style and where you get your planner inspo from? My planner style is relatively chronological with all the brights thrown in. My planner inspiration comes from everything around me. The planner, bujo and creative arts community is incredible. With the amount of talent out there, there is literally no end to the inspiration that can be found. I am always having a good hunt around on YouTube, Pinterest and Instagram and you can always find something to inspire that spark in you. What planners are you using at the moment and what do you use them for? I am currently using the Stephanie Fleming ‘Define your Passion’ Classic Happy Planner for my everyday plans. The ‘All the Feels’ Skinny Classic as my Happiness/Daily Gratitude journal, the ‘Life in Bloom’ Classic Horizontal as my daily journal. I am also dabbling in the 2021 Budget, Fitness & Recipe planners – whew! That’s a lot! Do you have any tips for someone starting out with planning? Get in and have a crack. Don’t worry about having the prettiest spreads or all the latest planners/stickers/washi or pens. When I first started, I made a hodge-podge mess, but I loved it. I didn’t put a lot of pressure on myself to do what everyone else was doing and I did what worked for me. If you are into functionality, go for it! If you want to use every sticker in your collection – I am all for it! Just remember to do what works for you and have fun with it. Where can we follow you? Come say hey on Instagram @rachgotplans I am always up for a chat x
So nice to get to know you, Rach!!! We can't wait to see what you're planning, next!
